Small Bat amigurumi pattern for everyone! The finished piece has 7cm x 6cm without wings. The size may depend on the used yarn.

Hi! In this post, I will cover the basics of how to create an awesome Small Bar! You can also get a free PDF file with detailed instructions and pictures: Small Bat Pattern

Materials needed

  • Yarn: any yarn you would like to use. Keep in mind that size can vary with different yarn. Yarn that I have used: YarnArt Jeans Plus in blue color
  • Small strands of dark yarn for embroidering mouth and eyes
  • Pink yarn for cheeks
  • Stuffing
  • Hook 4mm
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Safety eyes 6mm

Final measurements

The soft toy is around 7cm x 6cm without wings. The size may depend on the used yarn.

Few words before starting

The pattern is written in American terminology. Crochet in a spiral. For wings, crochet in rows. It is advised to use stitch markers to keep track of your rounds. Crochet through both loops of the stitch unless told otherwise. It would be best if you crochet tightly to avoid holes to be showing while stuffing. Have fun!

Sc to the side of the body. Flatten the top of your work and, according to eyes, mark ears (7 stitches for every ear) and the gap (for 5 stitches) between them. Continue crocheting.

Ear:

TIP: in the first round of ear sc through front and back loop together.
ss in next stitch, fasten off. Close hole using a darning needle.
Connect yarn to another ear spot (leave long tail for sewing) and continue Rnd 18-19 and instructions to finish ear.
Using the tail from one of the ears or new yarn, close the hole between the ears.

Assembly

Using pins, attach wings to the back of the body. Pay attention to wings' orientation - place them with sc border outside. When you are happy with the position, sew them using yarn tails. Hide all tails inside the body.

And finally, your lovely bat is ready! I hope you had fun with this cute amigurumi project. Experiment with different color variations! Please take a look at mine 😉
